Pretty Things; Indie Loves Disco

This post contains gifted/Ad PR products, as well as products I have paid for

I love shopping small and supporting small businesses, I've spoken before about trying to be more sustainable and the difficulty with being able to find slow fashion in bigger sizes. So I have deicded to do some spolights of some of my favourite slow fashion brands and small businesses - called 'Pretty Things'.

Up first is Indielovesdisco, a really cute and relatively new business based in Oxfordshire. The company tagline on Instagram is "What you wear should make you happy" and boy they are not wrong! Pure happiness is clear across all products they sell.

I discovered IndieLovesDisco while searching for cute face masks for my return to the office, I found so many were just a bit dull and nothing was jumping out to me, then I found this shop and immediately ordered 3 of her masks! I love that the masks are in really unique fabrics which you dont see in every other etsy shop. She also used contrasting fabric on the inside, so its reversable - like two mask styles in one! Also the elastic and top stitching is always an additional pop of colour. I just love how much design and thought goes into each mask.

After falling in love with her masks, I started seeing her unique ice dyed dungarees! And wow, the epitome of happiness.

India got in touch with me to offer me a gifted pair to try out and I practically bit her hand off! I opted for the ‘Dumbledore’s Bird’ pink and orange colourway. Each pair is ice dyed by hand - no two pairs are the same and I really love that. Truley unique.

She hand dyes fabrics using industrial grade dyes which are safe and non-irritant over a period of a few days. The colour is fully fixed and should remain vibrant and gorgeous on a 30 degree cycle. She takes real care when dying and making up each pair - sharing the process and finished fabric with you along the way.

Her dungarees go from a size XXS to 5XL (Hip measurement 57") but I provided her with my bust, hip and waist measurement as I was between two sizes and she was happy to accomodate. She also offers a matching service, where if you have an existing pair of dungarees which fit you perfectly - send them to her and she will draft a pattern using them! How cool is that! Her dungarees range from £90-100 depending on colourway, which is really reasonable for perfectly fitting and unique to you dungarees from a slow and sustainable brand. I am already eyeing up some other styles.

I own a lot of dungarees, from big brands and small and none of them fit me as well as these, and the fabric is lightweight and soft, so perfect for summer time comfort. With being still a quite new business, I am really excited to see where she goes and what other products might pop up along the way. Definitely one to watch!
