Back to Work - ASOS Sale mini haul

With recently returning to the office I had a sudden panic that I had nothing to wear that fit and that wasnt dungarees or joggers. So, I hit the ASOS sale for a few simple pieces that would be a little more presentable. I do try not to shop too much fast fashion but as a plus size person on a budget it can be hard to find sustainable options.

I grabbed four items and while I absolutely adore two of them, the other two were a hard no.

1. Monochrome Jumpsuit

I own an almost identical jumpsuit in another colour way and it is the most comfortable item of clothing imaginable. It is jersey and it doesnt have zips or button, you just slip it up through the neckhole. It has a tie waist which I love, as you can style it slightly differently depending how tight you tie it. I find this monochrome colourway really smart and perfect for work teamed with a blazer. I got it for £15.40 in the sale.

2. Minimal Rust Jumpsuit

I really wanted to love this one, its a jumpsuit so is always going to be a winner in my eyes (I LOVE a jumpsuit). But I sized up and really shouldnt have. From the picture on the website I assumed it might be smaller fitting in the body, so went for a 24, but it was miles to big and even with a belt (below) I wasnt loving it. I am playing sale roulette with this one and hoping it gets reduced one day in a smaller size. I paid £20 for this one full price.

3. Wednesday Day's Girl Smock Dress

I had such high hopes for this, it looked so cute on the model and the reviews were ok, but you can tell from my face how I feel. It was only £9 in the sale so decided to give it a go, but my gosh the fabric!! It is 100% polyester and the static cling was unreal. I loved the fit and the colour/pattern but it just felt so cheap. I got this in a size 20 and it was roomy, so if you love some polyester - be sure to size down.

4. Collusion Gingham Shirt Dress

I absolutely love this! I dont think the photo really does it justice. The fabric is so thick and sturdy and it has the most delightful hot pink topstitching details. I could wear this with Snag Tights, or cycling shorts, even over jeans. I feel like I might even try it like a shacket with shorts and a top underneath. So many possibilities! Really impressed with the quality and I paid £14.95 for it in the sale. The reviews werent great, but most of them were complaining about how oversize it was, but I love oversized shirts.

I am thinking of doing some styling posts soon, so taking a single item and showing how I'd wear it in different ways - sound good? Lets do this.
