The End of the F***ing World

So here we are, what a weird time we are living through.
Its hard to digest exactly what has happened in these last few weeks, and it seems to have ramped up very quickly to work closing, then schools closing and now here we are.
For the forseable future we are in our house, working, schooling and trying not to kill each other. It is alot, but I am trying incredibly hard to not dwell on things we cannot control and try to find the positives.
We have one person in the house with an underlying health condition, so we are limiting going out, keeping to quick trips to the supermarket for essentials as and when.
I havent really blogged in ages, I lost my love for it with the rise of the professional blogger and influencer, but in this uncertain time I am feeling the urge to document what is happening. Almost a journal for us to look back on, a place to share ideas and even built that sense of community again.

This is my homeworking set up. I work in University Administration, I manage a team of people who are all pretty scared and unsure right now. It feels odd to just keep plodding on with the usual meetings and paperwork, but until we figure out what we are doing with exams and graduations we are just in limbo continuing to plan next years timetable and induction like nothing is different.
We are in a privileged position that both of our jobs can be done remotely, although the added energetic 5 year old is a challenge. My heart is breaking for those whose income is in danger, who are facing being unable to pay their bills. I am hoping the government will announce some support plans soon - although with the tories you never know.

As for the youngest member of our household we are reaching out to generous teacher friends, trying to read as much as we can, do online yoga or workouts, getting out in the garden when the weather allows. I am under no illusion that we can actually replace school and honestly I don't want to. I want to focus on togetherness, fun and laughter.
Things I have found useful so far;
The Body Coach is doing kids workouts on youtube - which is a great way to start the day, as I am worried she will miss out on the running around the playground with her friends physical exercise.
The Teach your Monster to Read app is fantastic and free, lots of phonics based games and activties which are actually fun!
Phonicsplay.co.uk is great for different activities relating to phonics and zoe recognises a lot of the games from school. Log in for free with the username: March20 and Password: home.

Twinkl is brilliant and is offering free membership with the code 'UKTWINKLHELPS' I printed off a tonne of resources before work closed.
That is all I have so far, but we are only on day 2 so I will keep sharing anything we find and enjoy.

So I really hope everyone is doing Ok through this, and I am sending so much love out into the world right now. Signing off for today to get on with work but follow me over on instagram, my DMs are always open for chats. We can get through this together.

Stay Safe x
